See the section DXF/DWG: Import for generic
information about the import of DXF/DWG files. The import
takes all DXF/DWG settings into account with the exception of
the Drafting Standard.
Structure of the result:
- If the DXF/DWG file contains only one sheet, this sheet
is created in the current sheet. An auxiliary view is
created in the current sheet for each view found in the DXF/DWG
file.
- If the DXF/DWG file contains more than one sheet, the
first sheet is created in the current sheet, then a new
sheet is created for each additional DXF/DWG sheet. The
views in each sheet are created in the plane xy like
auxiliary views. The name of sheets and views are kept.
Depending on the DXF option Paper Spaces in Background, the
data lying on the paper space of the DXF layouts are put:
- either in the background of the layout sheet if the
option is activated,
- or in a new auxiliary view of the sheet if the
option is not activated. This auxiliary view is visible in
the authoring window. You can change the view support for
auxiliary views
By default:
- The created views are visible in the authoring window
and put in the plane xOy. But you can change the view
support for these auxiliary views after the import.
- The background of the views is displayed. As a
consequence, any 3D geometry will be seen in all the views.
If it is not whished, you can choose to make the background
invisible for the views.
- The default filter which is applied to the created views
entails that the other views of the 2D Layout are not
visible.
Note:
- The drafting standard given by the DXF/DWG settings is
not taken into account during the import, neither into an
existing 2DL, nor into an existing Drawing: the standard of
the current 2D Layout is not changed.
- Regarding the sheet format:
- When a view is inserted in the current sheet, the
format of the current sheet is not modified.
- When a new sheet is created, the best format is
applied for this new sheet.
- Regarding the sheet background color, the DXF standard
allows to control the adaptation of Black and
White colors to the background color. See
Color Mapping in the Customizing > About DXF
Standards section.
