Adding Points

This task shows how to add points to meshes using the Mesh Edition toolbar.
You can add a new vertex either by picking an existing point or indicating a location on the mesh.

This command is one shot on single-click and multi shots on double-click.
It does not create any new mesh.

To exit a command:

  • use the Esc key on the keyboard,
  • or click the icon again,
  • or click another icon.

For an easier work, we recommend that you switch to Wireframe view mode:

Open the MeshEdition1.CATPart model from the samples directory.
  1. Click Add point and select the mesh.

  2. Pick an existing point. It is added to the mesh (as a new vertex).

    You can also pick anywhere on the mesh where you want to add a vertex.
    It will be created and added to the mesh, without any underlying existing point.
